Best Bases for Classiication

چکیده
Feature extraction is important in pattern recognition. Wavelet packet has been recently used in choosing the best bases for feature extraction in classiication, combining the feature extraction and feature selection processes into one. This paper proposed a new criterion for best bases selection for classiication. In contrast with the previous work in this area, the new criterion is more robust in computation and direct in pattern recognition sense.
